Devlog #4

Devlog #4

This week’s update comes with fewer additions than in others, but brings us closer to a finished and functional experience. The core systems for the first level are nearly complete — most of the gameplay logic is already working as intended, and the game can now be played from start to finish.

However, due to limited time, we weren’t able to fully complete all the tasks planned in Devlog #3. We did make progress on several of them, such as continuing the polish of the enemy behaviors, UI improvements, and first floor layout adjustments but they are still pending final touches and testing.

At this stage, we're mainly focused on refining what we already have. That includes not only fixing small bugs and inconsistencies, but also making the overall player experience smoother and more intuitive and definitely more fun.

What We're Working On

  • Adjusting patrol paths and view angles for enemies to improve difficulty balancing
  • Finishing the main and pause menus
  • Improving UI consistency with a custom theme
  • Polishing audio transitions (especially for tense moments like chasing)

What’s Coming Next

Our main focus now is to:

  • Finalize all pending features from previous devlogs
  • Implement a simple tutorial
  • Finish the puzzle minigame involving a key that unlocks the main door

Final Thoughts

Although this week was lighter in terms of big new features, we have had continuous progress throughout the weeks, implementing almost to the full extend the intended mechanics and finally having a clear gameplay progression.
